Position description:
Lantern Unmanned Autonomous Systems, LLC, (Lantern UAS) develops technology to keep dangerous things out of international supply chains. Lantern UAS is building solutions to use aerial drones running automated routes to detect contraband and weapons of mass destruction in flows of international cargo. The company is managed by two former Directors on the White House National Security Council with expertise in drone policy and supply chain security.

Lantern UAS is building our team and looking for a Programmer/VP of Engineering with a background on particle physics and radiation detection. This is a pre-seed round position and initial compensation will be in equity.

Programmer Job Duties:
Confirms project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements with analyst, supervisor, and client.
Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
Encodes project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language.
Confirms program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
Prepares reference for users by writing operating instructions.
Maintains historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Programmer Skills and Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in C / C++ and Python
4+ years experience in Systems programming, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SPDY, DNS
Knowledgeable with MySQL databases
Understanding of the Linux operating system
Ability to debug issues within custom code
Sophisticated understanding of radiation detections systems
High aptitude and technology-agnostic approach to engineering
Demonstrated software engineering experience previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications
Advanced degree in physics
